How can you participate? The planning process is divided into three phases and includes public participation in each of these phases.
The first phase is primarily focused on gathering information, analyzing that information and how it effects and will effect the County, as well as visioning or gathering ideas from the community for the future.
The second phase will synthesize the information gathered in the first phase and develop an overarching vision statement, goals, objectives, and action steps related to plan elements such as land use, transportation, community facilities & utilities, housing and others. These draft components of the plan will be vetted through a public workshop before it is revised in the final phase.
The third and final phase of the planning process is the development of a strategic action plan that prioritizes all of the ideas set forth in the draft comprehensive plan. Final public input will be incorporated through the public hearings during the adoption process.
